Patients are recruited from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital’s CEW Clinic.

Meeting with a member of the team
A member of the team will contact you so you can ask any questions and check if you are eligible to take part
​
Pre-testing
The clinical care team at Alder Hey Children’s hospital will conducted a few measurements to monitor your health
​
Randomization
You will be randomized into either:
​
a) Usual care control group
b) Exercise Counselling + mHealth
​
Meeting with an exercise specialist
You will co-design an exercise programme with a trained exercise specialist
The MOTIVATE CEW Research Study
24-week Programme
You will be supported through a personalised 24-week exercise and physical activity programme
Exercise Consultation Meetings
Throughout this time you will have meetings with your exercise specialist to review and update your programme
Motivational Text Messages
You will also receive motivational text messages from your exercise specialist during the programme
Post-testing
Following the 6-month programme you will then repeat all the health check measures, with the clinical care team
Interview
We will ask for your opinion about the programme in an interview or focus group over Microsoft Teams
